she just doesn't want to listen when I try to give her advise on how to raise a pup...
he pees inside? instead of picking up the pup and putting it outside in the yard, and treat if he does outside, she grabs him and rubs his nose into it? :no2:
it's just getting frustrating!

I don't want to do someone elses job on raising a pup, my pup will soon arrive (on the 26th) and I don't want to be raising 2 pups, especially not one that's not mine...

that damn dog even swallows (and I really mean swallow, he doesn't bite on it or nothing) live rats! it's just gross...

she doesn't want to enrole him into OB classes altough she admits she should because "he's to stubborn and stupid to listen to me!" well, maybe you could try the RIGHT way to raise a pup and take advice from more educated people? :no2:

Best the vet can judge, Bella is now approximately one year old... so I just picked a date close to when I thought might be close to her "birth" date. When we adopted her in March, the vet said she was approx. 4 months old. It's hard to believe she is already a year old. She's gone through 3 rounds of Obedience classes, cost me nearly $1000.00 in vet bills for various injuries alone, and continues to constantly terrorize Cross (the cat ... who probably does deserve it!). Sometimes, I think I'm going to ring her neck before she sees daylight the next day, but I cannot possibly imagine my life without her!!

Happy Birthday Bella Boo... Nana loves you more than you will ever know! :hearts:

Dutch has done this twice,
He grabbed a fork off the kitchen counter a couple of weeks ago and brought it upstairs and I said "what are you you doing with that fork mister?" in kind of a low voice. He dropped the fork and stared at me, I was just looking back at him and he suddenly sat, then slowly rolled over on his back and turned his head as far away from me as he could, with his legs stiff up in the air. It made me laugh but I just said "OK!" in a high pitched voice and he jumped up and had a fit of the zoomies
Last night, I was down in the basement, on the computer, and Dutch likes to grab stuff down here and race it upstairs. He grabbed a cardboard box, and ran it up three flights of stairs  I followed him a couple of minutes later. He stood at the top of the stairs when he heard me coming, I slowly walked up the stairs, looking at him, and he did the same sit, rollover and look away. I said "OK!" and he had an attack of the zoomies again.
Is my dog insane or is he just a pitbull?

One of my friends has a female arctic wolf (about 75%). She's amazing! A true exception to what most wolves are like (as far as people, temperament, etc). She tends to be dog aggressive with dogs who try to be dominate but does pretty good with dogs who are either small or submissive.

Well, she's so great he went out and got a 8 week old male (about 80%) arctic wolf. They have been taking him to "puppy hour" where he'll sniff everyone else then go sit in a corner. If any of the dogs bumps into him he'll growl. So my friends girl friend wanted me to bring Bully over (he's really submissive) and see how Yukon does with him. Yukon (now 11 weeks old) actually snapped at Bully when Bully went to sit in my lap.

At 11 weeks old is it simply dog aggression because of he's a wolf or is it more likely that there is something wrong genetically? I didn't think aggression would show up this young in a pup..

I had nothing to do last night well after dark, so I went walking with a friend, I love walking... We ended up at a playground next to a little person football game going on, we know some of the kid's parents and go watch at times. We sat on the swings to take a break. The swings are about 200 yards from the FB field. We were about to head back when I spotted some people I know. We chatted.. Whatever. And being goofy one of the males of the group went down an enclosed slid. We had seen a young, 13/14, boy walking by earlier staring. Well he popped up out of nowhere and started stomping on my friend when he hit the bottom of the slide, then ran off. We all laughed it off as a crazy kid. The kid came back, with a large stick, ran at us screaming and got tangled in the swing chains (), kept coming and started telling us all he'd kill us. I'm a small female, as was the first friend I was with, not that I wouldn't whip his fat ass on my own but the guys in the group got in front of us and told him to back off. He was obviously out of his mind, he had rabies or something... He ran forward and broke this 7' thick stick over my friend's side, ran away, and repeated. This went on for several minutes (yes, I was laughing behind my sleeve at the fact my guys were being beaten up my a kid and couldn't do anything). He yelled one time that we smelled like we'd been drinking cocaine

Finally this shit -while my people we asking him what was wrong and ect. - whacked two of the dudes rather hard and tried running off. The elder of the two snapped and chased him down.. It was sort of like watching a cheetah take down a farm raised pig
I thought he was going to pound him into a pulp but he pinned the fart down and tried to talk to him... the kid burst into fake tears, my guy let him up, and the kid sprung up, yelled obscenities, and ran off.

We went and sat by/in their truck for a while to make sure the kid didn't do anything to it, as he said he was going to... Apparently he watched them pull up.

We'd been there a few minutes when five rather husky men came from the field shouting for the kid. We pointed out his direction and gave a very brief part of what he'd done. The ignored what we said and went to get the boy, who was hiding near some apartments nearby. They came back past us to go to the field, didn't speak, didn't apologize, nothing. THEY gave us nasty looks.

I won't lie, if the kid had touched me I would have beat the hell out of him, I think the guys handled it okay... What would you do? I think this kid is going to get himself killed. If we had been anyone else with less thought process that boy might've been shot. And scarily enough the way he was acting, I feel that if he had a knife or gun, he would have used it. He was just insane...

Just sharing. It was interesting.

I am currently the owner of a 9 month old female APBT named Bella. I used to think Pitbulls were mean and surly, but that was a very unfair judgement to pass when i had never met one. My fiance brought Bella home as a foster dog at 8 weeks old and i fell madly in love with her! She is so smart and attentive to what i am trying to tell/teach her. I must say these dogs are loving, loyal and possibly the last breed i may ever own!

This isn't probably the place to put this but Paws and Purrs Rescue Inc. in Rochester, Ny needs help with placing a pit bull dog in a foster home. We've scoured all around Rochester, only to find they want her for fighting. She is the sweetest dog and only wants to sit on your lap. Just not to worry you, there were four of us that chased this fellow out of the store where we were showing her.
We do not have the experience with pit bulls and we need another rescue to take her. The foster that had her had a family emergency and couldn't keep her. June Bug is in a boarding kennel now, and thjat's not good for her either. Anyone have suggestions. Please give them and they will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Janet

I have a couple quick questions in regards to my dogs ear crop...ill include a few pics...i actually specifically joined this site to get some answers because the breeder can only seem to help me so much...just a little background, i purchased pup from GALIKENNELS in southern california...im not a huge ear crop fan, but i loved the style of crop that all his dogs have, and his vet is A1...well anyways, i have the pup now and have had him for about 2 months, the pups right ear came out perfect but his left ear is not staying up...breeder says the cuts are both the same, but the left ear just needs more tape time..he instructed me to just pull up tip of ear, and tape around the ear/sandwich the ear between the tape? i tried to do this and it doesnt seem to be helping...the crop seems very short (it is a MEDIUM SHORT CROP WITH A STRAIGHT BACK CUT), but the ears will grow with the pups head, and the right ear has done this and looks perfect, but again the pups left ear is still not up!!!...pups right ear is on point, but the left just isnt standing up...pup is now almost 6 months old and i know my window of opportunity to get the ear to stand up is running out....the crop was done when the pup was approx. 4 months old....any suggestions will be appreciated i especially wanna know the type of tape that u guys would reccomend using...breeder suggested duct tape (that just ended up being way to sticky and made his fur a lil nasty...breeder suggested this because the regular cloth medical tape i was using kept coming off) i also just bought some vet wrap but that doesnt work and wont stick...so i dunno im at a loss and i want this dogs ear to get proper!!!!! help!!!!!

Peru gang accused of killing to sell human fat

CBC News

A police officer displays two bottles containing human fat while another officer holds seized sticks of dynamite during a press conference in Lima. (Karel Navarro/Associated Press) Three members of a Peruvian gang have confessed to killing people and draining the fat from the corpses to sell on the black market for use in cosmetics, according to police officials.
Col. Jorge Mejia, the chief of Peru's anti-kidnapping police, said at a news conference on Thursday that two of the suspects were arrested carrying bottles of liquid fat and told police it was worth $16,000 a litre.
Medical experts, however, expressed skepticism that a major market exists for fat, saying that while human fat can be used in anti-wrinkle treatments, it is always extracted from the patient being treated.
Mejia said the fat was allegedly sold to intermediaries in Peru's capital, Lima, and police suspect it was then sold to cosmetic companies in Europe, but he could not confirm any sales.
Three suspects confessed to killing five people, but the gang may have been involved in dozens more, police said. This year alone, at least 60 people are listed as missing in Huanuco province, where the gang allegedly operated, but the province is also home to drug-trafficking leftist rebels, police said.
Doubts about black market for fat

Six members of the gang remain at large, including the band's alleged leader, Hilario Cudena, 56, who one of the suspects told police had been killing people for human fat for over three decades.
The remains of some of the victims were found at a rural home in Huanuco, according to police video.
Medical experts were doubtful the trade of human fat would be lucrative.
Dr. Neil Sadick, a professor of dermatology at Cornell Weill Medical College in New York, said using a product with someone else's fat carries the risk of an immunological reaction, which is why people who do use products with human fat get the fat from their own body.
Dr. Adam Katz, a professor of plastic surgery at the University of Virginia medical school, said he was baffled that there would be a black market at all for fat.
"It doesn't make any sense at all, because in most countries we can get fat so readily and in such amounts from people who are willing and ready to donate that I don't see why there would ever be a black market for fat, of all tissues," he said.

We are a small rescue group in Rochester, NY. and I wish I could say I am joining this group for a reason other than trying to find a place for one of our recues. We have absolutely no experience with pits and to compound matters we have no foster home either for June Bug. She is a sweetie that wants to sit on your lap. She doesn't get along with other dogs or well but I think that from her experience just before we got her. We've gotten two different stories as to what happened. She had some awful rips on her chest.
Unfortunately, Rochester has a part of it's community who advocate dog fighting. We have decided we will not adopt to someone who lives in the city. That may or may not be wise.
We've tried different Pit Bull rescues, but some don't even have the courtesy to write back or call and say they don't have anyone who could take June Bug. Sorry I'm just venting a little frustration. We have her boarded right now, but that isn't good for her. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks
