We've been noticing a lot of posts that consist ONLY of emotes, excessive use of emotes and quoting other posts with "me too!", "good post" or "I agree with you". These types of posts will be deleted for lack of content.
Please post your own opinions, respectfully, of course, and refrain from using emotes as the only means to express your opinions. Using several emotes in a single line of text makes posts hard to read.
Also, please put thought into your posts before you hit "submit" so that you aren't coming back 3 or 4 times to add to it.
Everyone uses emotes, and we all need to add to our posts from time to time, but please try not to make these actions habitual.

Moderator Candidates

"Candidates" are members of the general population that are going to be voted on to decide whether or not they are promoted to "Moderator" status, and become a member of the forum staff. To become a moderator, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Mature - A candidate must be at least 16 years of age, or mature enough so age is not questioned. If a candidate is over the age of 16, but lacks the necessary maturity to handle situations in an adult and responsible manner, he/she may be denied the ability to be a candidate for a moderator position.
  • Decent Past - A candidate must not have a troublesome past as a member. If a member is known to have behavior problems, he/she will be denied the ability to be a candidate for a moderator position.
  • Read Pedigrees - A candidate must be able to read and comprehend a pedigree.
  • Typing Habits - A candidate must be able to use proper capitalization, grammar and sentence structure as well as be able to properly spell the words they choose to use in their posts.
  • Ownership and Experience - A candidate must own, have owned or have experience with American Pit Bull Terriers.
  • Moderating Another Forum - A candidate must not moderate on or own another forum that is pit bull related. There may be exceptions made at the administrations discretion.
Before you, as member applies for a moderating position, be reminded that you lose certain member rights. You will have to moderate and regulate disputes and enforce rules between fellow members.

First, we would like to thank the previous administration and staff for their dedication to the site over the years. Without you, Game-Dog would not be where it is today.

To effectively move Game-Dog forward, and to provide members with more updated features, you will now see a new management staff in place.

The Administration will be: Shon and 3MTA3.

The Super Moderator team will consist of the following members: chinasmom, CoolHandJean, ncprisonguard, Nell Bell, shadowwolf, StopBSL and woody d.

As you can see, there have been changes to the forum, and change will continue to evolve. Some will be visible to you, such as the default color and style of the forum. To make the forum have a more streamlined look and feel, signatures and the "Thank You" button have been eliminated. User and staff titles have been restored. Members will now know who is a staff member by a glance at their user title. This is especially important for new users who might have a question, and want to pm a staff member.

You may want to read the rules, as there are now new rules in place that are less restrictive, but cover more ground.

In appreciation of all the hard work and dedication rescue groups and volunteers commit to the bully breeds, Pit Bull Chat has launched a database for rescue groups to enter their adoptable dogs. Through this database, rescue groups can create, manage and customize their own categories in order to suit their needs. A main customization option for both categories and entries added by a rescue group is the ability to add modules to certain pages. A few of these modules includes a calendar that links to rescue dogs added by the rescue group on a certain day, a category listings module to show categories created by the rescue group in new locations, a guest book, list of rescue dogs that the rescue group has marked as favorite, custom links and much more.

Categories created by rescue groups virtually become the rescue group's own mini-website for listing their adoptable dogs (much like PetFinder) with customization options. Compared to PetFinder, Pit Bull Chat's database is more user-friendly, provides optimal organization and targets relevant, local search engine traffic to provide increased exposure for both the dogs and rescue group.

Members of Pit Bull Chat are able to comment to entered rescue dogs in order to gain additional information, communicate with the rescue group about the dog or simply wish the adoptable dog well in the search for a home. Comments to rescue dogs in user created categories can be moderated (edited\deleted) by the rescue group or comments may be disabled completely in their category if desired.

We welcome all rescues to join our community and participate in our rescue database. Add your adoptable dogs to our database and gain more exposure to both your rescue and your dogs.

There is a quick reply option when viewing a private message to save time when quickly responding. The message is automatically quoted, the same as when clicking the "Reply" button.

A "message history" has been added to allow you to view multiple PMs about the same topic in a threaded view. Clicking "View History" on the left hand side beneath the quick reply will show you all of the previous messages of the same subject on a single page.

You are also now able to search through you PMs by the sender or title within a specified date and sort messages by title, sender or date (default).

We would also like to take this time to highlight a few additions to the site over the past few months as well as fill you in on a little that you can expect in 2009!

We have added three new forums dedicated to the American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Bully. Please take a moment to browse through them and offer any additional information or topics for discussion that you may have.

We have also added a few new categories to our picture gallery; Pit Bull Puppies, Pit Bulls Resting & Relaxing, Bull Terrier Pictures and Creative Photography! If you have any pictures that fit under these categories or any of our other gallery categories, we welcome you to share them with fellow community members!

In 2009, we have something big planned that we are expecting to begin development in late January or early February; a fully functional and extended featured pedigree database for you to add your dogs' pedigrees and research them! We are hoping to roll out the finished edition to members in the second or third quarter of 2009. We will also be holding more contests and giving away prizes and awards to the winners, so be sure to keep an eye out for them! Everyone loves free stuff right? :)

Also, we would like to announce that we have a new sister site dedicated to Doberman Pinschers; Doberman Chat. If you have a Doberman or know anyone who has one or is interested in Dobermans, we welcome you and your friends to join and become a participating member!

The year 2008 was a huge success and we would like to thank each and every one of our members for their hard work and dedication! We intend to push 2009 to the limits and make it even more successful!

Treat your Pit Bull Chat profile just like your MySpace profile. Put a link to your profile in your signature on other forums, add it to your email signature, post it on your friend's site... advertise it!

We know that your profile isn't quite as customizable as MySpace, but with a little creativity, it can be pretty close and very cool!

Here are a few example profiles to show you what can currently be done:
If you have any ideas or suggestions that we may be able to implement to make your profiles even better, please let us know. Some examples ideas we may be able to accommodate you with are as follows:
  • Allow you to customize the title of your profile page
  • Add a small YouTube video to the right side of your profile
  • Use customized text on the left and\or right side of your profile

There is a plethera of great dog blogs out there, that contain a wealth of information, opinions, or simply a different point of view. This forum will allow them there own area, so members will be able to distinguish them from the actual news and BSL.
