she just doesn't want to listen when I try to give her advise on how to raise a pup...
he pees inside? instead of picking up the pup and putting it outside in the yard, and treat if he does outside, she grabs him and rubs his nose into it? :no2:
it's just getting frustrating!

I don't want to do someone elses job on raising a pup, my pup will soon arrive (on the 26th) and I don't want to be raising 2 pups, especially not one that's not mine...

that damn dog even swallows (and I really mean swallow, he doesn't bite on it or nothing) live rats! it's just gross...

she doesn't want to enrole him into OB classes altough she admits she should because "he's to stubborn and stupid to listen to me!" well, maybe you could try the RIGHT way to raise a pup and take advice from more educated people? :no2:

Hi Everyone,

I just noticed that, for about a month, one user on wikipedia has been rewriting everything in the "pit bull" article and giving it an anti-pit bull slant. They have even started a new entry called "people killed by dogs in the United States" with a bunch of misinformation taken from the Clifton report. I've started posting a few corrections, but we are clearly dealing with somebody who has nothing better to do than sit in front of the computer all day posting anti-pit bull propaganda on wikipedia; so any contributions from knowledgeable people willing to add some factual information to wikipedia could, I believe, do a lot of good at this point.

Thanks,

Chris

If anyone is planning a trip out to Tom Garners anytime soon? I sure would be interested in yourr opinions on the El Negro x Negras Dominas litter. I'm interested in getting a male out of that breeding, and will have it shipped to Cali.

I'd just like get some input about the dispositions (don't want a shy dog) and overall demeanor, size, and conformation. I've already spoken with Tom (he seemed quite busy), but it never hurts to have a little input from others. Thanks!

Will she get any bigger than that? She is more pit than boxer so I figured she would probley be closer to the weight of a pit than a boxer. She is 3/4pit 1/4boxer. I read some where thats pits stop growing at 6mths is that true? Well all your anwsers will be helpful.
I was told this dog was a Patrick Indian Bolio. I would like to find another dog alot like the one I had. That dog would make sawdust and wood chips out of lumber. Always carrying 2X4's and big tree branches around and wanting you to play with her and her "tools" all the time. That dog was the most.

Is there a definition for the way she always would chew and play with wood?

This was posted to a newsgroup sometime back, thought I'd keep it circulating since whoever came up with it had a good sense of humor:
-------------------

Dear Dogs and Cats:

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years. Canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

RULES FOR NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

1. They live here. You don't.

2. I like my pets a lot better than most people.

3. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

----------

In the case of my little dork there needs to be an addendum:

Under the covers or on top of the covers, make up your mind.

My grocery store just hired this guy to bags the groceries who is a little slow. His name is Toby. He's the sweetest person and always offers to bring my bags to my car. Well Dante was in my car and normally he wouldn't let anyone (especially a guy) come that close without barking. well when The guy saw Dante and asked if he could give him a skittle and I said yes. Well Dante was all licking on him and rolling on his back for him and pushing his body up against Toby like he does when he wants you to scratch him. Dante LOVES people but he's protective of my house and my car. I was amazed that he even let Toby open the door. I really think dogs can sense that kind of thing.

So one of my friends just moved to a nice piece of property. There are tons of trails on it too! So we decided to take the dogs and check it all out. I let Bully off the leash (He's NEVER showed any aggression towards any animals, listens pretty well, and it was her private property).

Anyways...he never went more than 50 ft from me and always within eye-sight. He'd constantly come back to me too without me having to call him. I've never seen him run so fast or get the zoomies likes that! He even found a pond that he loves because there are very large rocks and concrete at the bottom (He doesn't like the sinking sand feeling  ) Then the min I said "Lets go to the car" he ran up to it and sat!. I'm so excited because I finally found a safe place that he can enjoy! (and that wears him out!)

If anyone want to flame me about having my dog off the leash you can save it. I know how "pit bulls" are and he's truly and exception. My vet aways says "he's a sad excuse for a pit bull" because of how goofy he is and how submissive he is with other dogs." The only "unsafe" part of having him off the leash was some barb wire we found :( but we are going to clean that up before we go out again.

Years ago I ran a BBS, a few years back I put one up again for something to tinker with. Back then (before email, and forums, and the rest of the web) we had fidonet for echos (our version of forums). Fidonet is still around and I still carry some of the echos. The following was posted in one of them and it seems this is a good place to repost it:

------------------------------------------------

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then, reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer.

And with that he let out a whistle,"Here,Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; This one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

------------------------------------------------

The world is full of loving little bully pups who also need someone who understands. Praying for the day the media gets a conscience and BSL is just a bad memory of a not so enlightened past.

I think it's safe to assume that the one who does most for the dogs at home (walking, feeding, etc) are the ones on this board

So in that case....what does you SO do to help out? Are they just as big of "dog people" or could they careless?

My husband grew up with strictly outdoor dogs. Small (like under 20 pounds) dogs and little puppies where allowed in the house and that's it...and even they spent most of the time outside.

The most he'll do with the dogs is let them outside or cuddle with them on the couch. He used to feed them if I begged, but since we switched to raw he's so lost on that I have to put the dog food in a certain section of the fridge/freezer so he doesn't eat it  It's great on one hand because we don't argue about training techniques, but I also don't trust him to watch the dogs for a week because they can bark to go out and he "doesn't hear them." :no2:

So what does your SO do? And would you trust them to take care of your dogs for a week if you had to go away?

Hi,

I recently learned about the plight of animals in Darlington, South Carolina. Overwhelmed by the numbers of dogs and cats in their care, the Darlington County Humane Society is battling food shortages for the shelter animals, inadequate space, difficulty providing proper medical care, and other critical challenges.
Barbara Tilton, a volunteer doing amazing work to aid the animals of Darlington, explained to me that the shelter has no budget for pet food, relying entirely on donated food; dogs at the shelter became emaciated due to being fed only one cup of food a day no matter their size or breed. When cat food runs out, the cats are given dog food, which most reject and go hungry. She showed me photos of the dogs with heartworm and other diseases waiting patiently for treatment. Barbara and the other heroes of Darlington K-911 and the Darlington Rescue Team are working heroically to help these animals, but they need our help.

Mulling over what could be done, I decided to put Vet Confidential to work and the Darlington Holiday Fundathon was born. I figured, people need holiday gifts, and the Darlington animals need funding, so for every copy of

My almost 3 year old female APBT is a REAL bitch, and this morning she was determined to show me just how much of a bitch she could be.
A little after 2 this morning she decided she wanted to go outside and began to bark to get me to get up and take her... not happening....
I finally got tired of her barking and told her she was two hours too early that I was not getting up until 4:30... do you know that bitch can tell time... She quited down until 4:28.. she started barking again...
so I roll out of bed and put on the coffee and take her outside, of course by now Buddy wants to go too....
I take them outside and sit on the deck while they begin to play... first tag, then keep away... then a few zummies just for good measure..
the coffee is done, so I go in to fix a cup...neither dog shows any interest in going in.. ok, no sweat.. I get my cup and go back out...
after finishing the first cup I am thinking they might be ready to go in, they have been outside for more than 40 minutes now.. but no.. not happening... so ok, i get a second cup and go back out...
now understand, this is south Texas and to me 44 degrees with an 8 mile an hour wind is sort of on the cold side and I could be drinking my coffee in the house where it is not as cold, but nope.. Buddy will go in, but not GG, she just sits looking at me like I have lost my mind when I ask her to go in.... so ok, sit down and drink the second cup
finish the second cup and now try to get them to come in... Buddy is fine with it, he goes in and lays down on his mattress,,, not GG she just looks and me and plants her feet... I go over and pet her.. no dice.. ok, enough is enough.. I grab her by the collar and start the pull on her, that ususally works, not this morning... feet firmly planted I drag her to the door...
I let go of her collar to open the door, she jumps back a few feet and plants her feet again... so now I go drag her again... we are in the house...she is in the mud room but will not go in the kitchen to her bed... she runs to the back of the mud room and sits against the rear wall and plants her feet....
ok, so I get a third cup of coffee and look back, she is sitting by the back door with her nose on the door know.... poor thing... ok.. I open the door and let her out... a few zooms around the back yard, Buddy joins us, and then it is a game of tag again....
finish the third cup.. no dice... GG is not going in.... I have had enough coffee so I go in and get a glass of milk... Buddy has had enough and he goes in and lays down not GG....
Finish the milk.. and tell GG it is time to go in, no more fooling around, she gives me the whose fooling look, the if I am not happy, no body is going to be happy look...
so I pick her up, put her in her bed in the kitchen, shut the door between the kitchen and the mud room.. as I left the kitchen to go upstairs... GG is looking at the mud room door wondering how in the hell she is going to get that open...
When I came down stairs to leave for work, she still would not look at me... BITCH!!!

So after a few days of having D.D. I decided to take her to music and motorcycles to see how she did with lots of people around her. There were around a cpl of hundred people on main street. She wanted to say Hi to every person she saw. They had the radio station there and music. She got loved on by about 30 people. Wanting to pet her or just ask is that a pit bull. Well she did the breed proud, she loved everybody she saw. A chi came up to her and she submissive peed. I had to laugh, the chi was nearly a t-cup size. She also let a little girl who was in a wheel chair pet her. She just stood there and let the girl pet her. I was so proud! After that we went back home! We were only there for about 20 mins as I didn't want to stress her. But everyone she met said she was gorgeous and had such pretty eyes. I said this is a vicious pit bull isn't she! They just laughed but thought she was great! I love my town! Even with some of the idiots! Sorry bad mommy I didn't have my phone with me so I didn't get any pictures.:(
