I've been looking around for bullys, but I either see dogs they're charging $3k-$4k a dog, or they seem like a shotty BYB that is just looking to make a quick buck. I'm not looking for a champion, or really even a show dog, just another pet. It seems like the shelters all have either pit mixes or staff mixes, no bullys

I want my pitbull to be friendly around other dogs but tyson seems TOO friendly. He likes to jump on them and stuff. For example me and my friend down the street play basketball together and when we play he has his 2 month old pit outside well today he told me to bring mine over so they can play, but my pitbull tyson kept jumping on his pit and knocking him over. tyson also kept opening up his mouth on my friends dog not biting but just open. Any suggestions to help my dog be more calm around other dogs? Please give me some advice

I just recentcly rescued JADA from am family that made a very bad mistake, they used a shampoo from bed bath and body works and she developed this rash that spread pretty quickly. I have started a treatment of benadryl and the rash is starting to clear and hair is starting to return, she also gets oatmeal baths every 2 days. My biggest question is that I was told by the ppl that i got her from that she was a pitbull terrier and that both her parents were rednose pits. well her nose is black as can be. she is 6 mths old at this time. Picks posted below, i know she is not a dalmation due to her spots are just now coming in. I was surfing the web one day and found a male beagle terrier that looked excactly like her( Actually thought it was her before the rash) Is there a way to tell is she is a true pit other than a expensive dna test.

I've been crating Amy while I'm at work since the week she pooped on the floor a couple times and destroyed a chaise lounge in her room.

Today I came home and she came sauntering down the stairs to greet me. She was MUCH calmer than normal when I come home and immediately tucked her tail between her legs and has been prostrating herself in submission since then.

We did have a pretty severe thunderstorm this afternoon so I'm wondering if she freaked and escaped. But she didn't destroy anything that I can see.

Should I maybe start letting her out while I'm gone as a trial if she can handle it without being destructive? I think she just hung out on my bed all day.

Hello from my self and my 4-legged 65lbs baby Juno. Who is a blue ABTP and my snuggle bug, that follows me from room to room every evening and weekend for our "Girl Chats" while we fold laundry or cook dinner, enenthough the dinner part, she might only be in it hoping she will get a bite...LOL. Juno also likes to go bye bye and play in the yard, where if her 2-legged sister leave the fence she comes to the sliding door and tells on them. (Barks) We are both very excited to meet other families that have the same love for this breed as I do.

A woman I have been talking with for a while, who sadly is losing the battle of thyroid cancer, has contacted me asking If I would take one of the puppies from an unexpected litter her service dog is having. It's a deerhead Chihuahua ( I swore I would NEVER get an ankle biter) and actually really cute. The dog is so caring and follows this woman everywhere, even waits for her while she is in the hospital perfectly quiet and just watching her. It's really sad this dog just got pregnant a few weeks ago because the neighbors chihuahua broke through a broken back yard fence post and got tangled up with little miss Honey. She is expected to have the puppies in 3-4 weeks and after that will have to wait until 8 weeks old for me to bring one home.

Now that the background story is done time for my question, is it a good idea to get another dog as a companion for Ruger. He loves all animals (so far) and is actually best friends with my old neighbors deerhead chi. I'm just worried if one of these day's he flips and decides he is going to become territorial or something and kills the dog. He will be a lot bigger than the chihuahua since Ruger's dad was 120 pounds and mom was 90 (we were told, he was a rescue so we never saw parents, just pictures). Ruger is so sweet and lazy and mellow I could never see him hurting or killing anything because we have really been sticking to the socialization thing since day one. He goes everywhere and does everything we do and never really has a time to get out of hand because mommy and daddy are always there to correct him :].

I'd like to get some advice on this because I'd love to help this woman out and it would really not be a problem to me to have a puppy in the house, I just don't want something to happen in the future as an outcome. Has anyone ever had any issues with having a mellow puppy and an aggressive adult or are they pretty much the same as they were as a pup? Give me anything you think might be of help to me :]

My name, as you may have guessed is Chuck. My family lives in Northwestern NJ in what people from the North East call the Mountains. Make no mistake, as someone originally from California, I know, they're hills. The newest member of our family is Rogers, an adorable, high energy, bundle of love who happens to be a pit bull. Or at least a pit bull mix, but he's pit enough frighten the uneducated, news viewing masses. Gggrrrrrr!!!! He's non aggressive towards people, dogs, and cats. Actually he's terrified of cats and hates when they get close to any of us because he knows them as being terribly sharp. Rogers is originally from the streets of the Bronx where he was found wandering as a pup. Skinny, hungry, cold, and alone. That's not where he found us, he actually picked us out from a kill shelter in Harlem. Anyway he's almost 2 (to us) now, healthy, fit, yada yada. He loves tug, eating things he's not supposed to, "crazy time" aka "the pit bull freak out", rolling around in dirt, uhm, swimming, yes I said swimming (another myth broken!) oh, and his favorite thing of all things playing with other dogs at the dog park.

I know the head structures are unique obviously in these guys, and I've been told they continue to change until maturity....

Well, my question here is, if a pup is slightly undershot, is there any chance that the bite may correct itself with age (until maturity) ? I've never had a BT with such a roman finish as my white pup, so I don't really know the answer to this question. Any input? Thanks!

For all of you that do lure coursing I'm wondering if you have ever seen a Dane at an event? Boxie is showing great interest in chasing the flirt pole and is very proud of himself when he "catches" it. I would love to be able to get him into a sport and this seems very doable. I plan on waiting until he has more time to develop since he is just 5 months old though we might go check out a practice run from our local club.

So, thoughts? Would it just be amusing to watch him try to run? Suggestions on the best way to keep him interested/condition as we get closer to actually doing a trial?
